Hello from The Bight

We are at Norman Is. since yesterday afternoon.  The Captain and No.1 got all the required repairs done to the windlass and we left Penn's after lunch yesterday...the autopilot seems to be doing well since we are no longer going in circles...we went to the lee of Peter Is and the boys got it all programmed...with Greg's help of course...
Happy hour at the Bight is announced by a canon shot at 1600hrs...we had to check out the digs here...what a difference a year makes...this place has totally been revamped...restaurant is now three times the size it was and the old gift shop is now offices...brand new gift shop and the prices reflect the upgrades done to it!!!!  Mark bought a Aussie hat...looks like crocodile Dundee! but at least his ears won't burn...

Grand Cru is out there

Just got back from a snorkel and saw a pretty big Billy (aka barracuda). He was approx 3 feet long and his head was a little bigger than Mark's fist...his teeth were shiny and really really long!!!!  Amazing coral and schools of beautiful fish...hermit crab attempting to invade a recently eaten conch...probably by an octopus...believe it or not folks the water is cold...we inventoried Captain Ricky's snorkeling equipment this morning and we have enough to outfit a small village...
I have a date tonight with the best dancer in the Caribbean...my brother...he is sought after by all the women in the area since most of their husbands or partners don't dance...we will be going to the Willy T's...a floating bar anchored just off our stern!!!  how convenient is that...the dingy ride home is always an event!!! I am bringing Mark as well...he is de designated dingy driver!!!
We are leaving the BVI tomorrow heading to St John to check into the USVI...then continuing to St Thomas where we will be picking up a few items for the boat...I will try to keep you up to date on our antics...
We hope it's not too cold where you are!  Sue, please let Don know that the large bottle of Matouks is already packed!!!
....I forgot to tell you that Captain Rick had a bongo moment last night...gitch and all!!!
