Spent an active night not scratching bug bites. No see ums are on my list of hated insects. The boat project moved forward today in several good ways. We had a good day of running cables and wiring for the electronics. The yard manager showed up to measure chain plates and is moving to have those manufactured. We located the binnacle angle guard and instrument pod in Oregon and it should be to us by Tuesday. Did I mention bug bites.
In the afternoon today it did warm up a tad. Work came to a stop around 2pm and we sat in the cockpit and watched the afternoon pass, much like an afternoon on the berm.
We waited for Rick's friend Kevin to arrive with his mason 44 and his invitation to dinner...neither made it and we had to forage for food at Buck's Foodmart just down the dock. We had steaks and Rick made another gourmet dinner 'Get the F**k out of my kitchen.
We think there was a parade tonight, we heard drumming and music, we did not see any clowns but a parade no less.
Attached to the Grocery store we found a shower facility available to boaters very clean and shiny. On some of our past voyages with Grand Cru we had heard of the Captains shower/laundry activity. He simply wears his underwear, sometimes several different pairs into the shower. Now thankfully I have no direct knowledge of what goes on in his shower having chosen a stall as far away as possible. But the singing and the sounds of the various laundry cycles clicking off is well evident. The final spin cycle is akin to Carmen Miranda and the foot stomping flamenco dancing of her ilk (yes I am that old).
